TUCSON, Ariz.--- The Arizona Wildcats are slated to go up against 15 ranked opponents, including 9 NCAA Tournament teams during the spring 2016 season, 15th year head coach Vicky Maes announced on Wednesday.
Arizona, who ended the season ranked No. 66 in the country will begin the spring campaign on Jan. 24th in Honolulu as it will take on Hawaii.
Following play in Hawaii, the Cats have a brief two match homestand during which they will play UTEP on Jan. 28 before going up against their first ranked opponent of the season in No.42 Princeton on Jan., 29.
The Cats will then travel to Texas, as they are slated to play against No. 34 Houston (2/5) and No. 28 Rice (2/6) before returning to Tucson to play five consecutive home matches. This stretch of home matches will feature San Diego (2/12), in- state foe Northern Arizona University (2/13), New Mexico State (2/13), No. 73 San Jose State (2/19), and No. 40 Long Beach State (2/20).
From there, the Cats will travel to Louisiana to face No. 23 LSU in Baton Rouge (2/26) and No. 62 Tulane in New Orleans (2/27). This brief away campaign will prepare the Cats for the beginning of Pac-12 play, as they are scheduled to face both No. 11 Stanford (3/5) and No. 7 California (3/6) at home the following week.
These are the first two of five straight Pac-12 matches Arizona will play in, as it will hit the road to play No. 53 Utah (3/11), Colorado (3/13), and No. 65 Oregon (3/18). Arizona will host two teams the following weekend with Alabama Birmingham (3/24) and Sacramento State (3/26) both coming to compete at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
Two Washington teams will then visit Tucson, as the Cats are scheduled to compete against Washington State (4/1) and No. 64 Washington (4/2) at home before heading to Southern California to play against No. 2 USC (4/8) and No. 3 UCLA (4/9). The Cats will conclude their regular season at home with their fifth Pac-12 match in a row coming against in-state rival ASU (4/16).
The Pac-12 Tournament will span from April 21-24th in Ojai, California, while NCAA Tournament play is set to begin on March 24th.
