TUCSON, Ariz. – After the conclusion of the season and the NCAA Championships last Saturday in Eugene, 14 track cats received All-America honors.
EUGENE, Ore. – Arizona had three athletes competing in their respective finals today. Sage Watson took home first-team All-America honors and Alyssa Thompson took home second-team honors in Eugene.
The Arizona men's track and field team placed 23rd at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Friday behind a fourth-place finish in the discus from Gerhard De Beer. In addition, Alyssa Thompson posted 3,174 points on the first day of the heptathlon and stands in 21st place.
Pau Tonnesen placed fourth in the decathlon, while Sage Watson qualified second in the 400-meter hurdles on day two of the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
The Pac-12 released their All-Academic teams today and eighteen Wildcats received honors. Seven received first-team honors, three received second-team honors, and eight were honorable mentions.
