MESA, Ariz. – This past weekend some members of the Arizona swimming team went to Mesa, Arizona to compete at the Arena Pro Swim Series at the Skyline Aquatics Center.
Tenth-ranked Arizona sand volleyball posted a runner-up finish in the Pac-12 Invitational in Santa Monica, Calif., picking up victories against No. 8 UCLA (3-2), ASU (3-2), and a pair of losses to No. 1 USC (0-5) in the second round and (0-5) in the championship match.

Offense Leads Way in Victory over Utah
Junior Naoki Takeda cruised to his team-leading 23rd victory of the season, while freshman Shoki Kasahara earned a convincing straight-set victory on court five, but unfortunately the two victories weren't enough, as Arizona dropped a 4-2 decision to Utah, Saturday out at Coach Mike's Tennis Academy up in Salt Lake City.
Just weeks after winning her second National Championship in the one meter dive, senior Samantha Pickens earned some more hardware to add to her trophy case, this time in a different event. On Saturday, Pickens took home the bronze medal in the 3-meter dive at the FINA Puerto Rico Grand Prix.
Arizona earned the No. 4 seed and is paired with No. 6 seed Stanford for the opening round on Monday.
