TUCSON - University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf competed in round one of the UNC Wilmington Landfall Tradition on Friday. Held Oct. 26-28, the three-round, 54-hole event is being played at the Country Club of Landfall on the Jack Nicklaus Course (par 72, 6,138 yards).
No. 16 Oklahoma State leads the team race with a 292 (+4). No. 5 Duke sits in second place with a 293 (+5). No. 22 Purdue and No. 27 Texas Tech round out the top three with scores of 294 (+6). No. 3 Arizona is in 12th place with a first-round score of 302 (+14). No. 26 Kimberly Kaufman of Texas Tech leads the individual race with a 67 (-5).
No. 39 sophomore Kendall Prince paces Arizona in an eight-way tie for 15th place. She carded a round of 73 (+1). No. 29 sophomore Manon Gidali sits in an eight-way tie for 23rd place after shooting a 74 (+2). Freshman Anna Kim collected a round of 77 (+5) and is in a 14-way tie for 43rd place. To round out the Arizona five, No. 62 freshman Janie Jackson and No. 78 sophomore Andrea Vilarasau share an eight-way tie for 57th place with scores of 78 (+6).
Second-round play will resume at 8:30 a.m. ET on Saturday with the Wildcats teeing off 10:10-10:50 a.m. ET.
