TUCSON - With a 298 (+10) in round two, the University of Arizona women's golf team has moved in to the top three in the team standings at the SDSU Farms Invitational. Hosted by San Diego State and held at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., competition is being held Sun.-Tues., March 31-April 2. The Farms Golf Club is a par 72 over 6,202 yards.

No. 1 USC leads the team race with a score of 587 (+11). No. 45 UNLV sits in second place with a 600 (+24). No. 8 Arizona and No. 31 Pepperdine round out the top three with scores of 604 (+28). The Cats recorded individual rounds of 306 and 293. No. 24 Sophia Popov of USC leads the individual race. She holds scores of 74 and 69 for a two-day total of 143 (-1).

No. 33 sophomore Manon Gidali continues to pace the Wildcats as their lead player. She sits in a four-way tie for fifth place with scores of 72 and 76 for a two-round total of 148 (+4). Sophomore Andrea Vilarasau has collected rounds of 74 and 76 for a score of 150 (+6), good for a six-way tie for 12th place.

No. 89 freshman Janie Jackson holds rounds of 80 and 71 for a two-day score of 151 (+7). She sits in a five-way tie for 18th place. Freshman Anna Kim has scores of 80 and 75 for a score of 155 (+11), good for a six-way tie for 33rd place. Sophomore Patricia Garcia rounds out the Arizona five in a tie for 50th place. She holds rounds of 80 and 80 for a score of 160 (+16).

Competition at the SDSU Farms Invitational will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday for the final round of play. Live results will be available at
