TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona Wildcat men’s golf team competed in the second round of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate today. The Wildcats finished the second round in fifth place by scoring a 301 (+13), which gives the Wildcats a total score of 593 (+17).

California dominated the field in the second round by shooting a score of 282 (-6). The Golden Bears were lead by three players who all finished in the top three. Joel Stalter continued to sit on top of the leader board by shooting a second round score of 70 (-2). Max Homa fired a 68 (-4), and Michael Weaver shot a score of 70 (-2). California sits 16 shots ahead of the second place team BYU.

Similar to the first round, Erik Oja shot the lowest score on the Arizona team. Oja shot a second round score of 73 (+1), giving him a total score of 142 (-2). The junior sits in a tie for third place.

Individually for Arizona, Senior Juan Pablo Hernandez finished with a 77 (+5) in the second round, giving him a total score of 150 (+6). He currently sits in a tie for 27th place. Brenden Redfern shot a second round score of 77 (+5). Trent Redfern shot a second round score of 74 (+2). The Redfern brothers have total scores of 151 (+7) and sit in 34th place. Dylan Healey shot a 79 (+7) in the second round, and he has a total score of 155 (+11) and competing as an individual, Alex McMahon shot carded an 82 (+10) for the second round, and has a total score of 161 (+17).

The third round of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, which is held at Turtle Bay Resort’s Arnold Palmer Course in Kahuku, HI will begin tomorrow at 7:30 (HST) with a shotgun start.
