TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona Wildcats women’s golf team competed in the second round of the Pac-12 Championships at Valencia Country Club (par 72, 6,300 yards) in Valencia, Calif. When the round was completed, the Wildcats sat in fourth place of the 11 teams in the field.
As a team, Arizona shot a 284 (-4) in the second round, which was the lowest score any team posted all day. Arizona will enter the third round with a score of 585 (+9). The Trojans of USC maintained their lead in the second round by scoring a 291 (+3), giving them a 571 (-5) for the tournament. They hold an eleven-shot lead over the host UCLA heading into the third round. Stanford’s Mariah Stackhouse and USC’s Annie Parker share the lead with scores of 140 (-4).
Individually for the Wildcats, Janie Jackson fired a second round score of 68 (-4). She sits in a tie for sixth place with a score of 143 (-1). Manon Gidali carded a 71 (-1) in the second round to give her a score of 145 (+1). Gidali is in 12th place heading into the third round. Patricia Garcia shot an even par 72 in the second round. She sits in a tie for 17th entering the third round with a score of 148 (+4) Kendall Prince shot a 73 (+1) in the second round and is in a tie for 23rd. Andrea Vilarasau rounds out the team by posting a 75 (+3) in the second round, earning a tie for 30th on the leader board.
