2013 NCAA Outdoor All-American Second-team (Discus) 

2013: Indoors, Gibson had a season-best mark of 54-4.75 (16.58m) in the shot put at the Don Kirby Invitational, good for fourth place … She threw the shot put at the MPSF Championships and posted a mark of 53-11.75 (16.45m) which was good for fifth place … Gibson also competed in the weight throw competition and had a personal-best toss of 62-5.75 (19.04m) at the Don Kirby Invitational … At the MPSF Championships, Gibson also earned a fifth-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 60-7.25 (18.48m) … Outdoors, Gibson’s season-best mark of 55-4.25 (16.87m) in the shot put came at the Mt. SAC Relays where she took fifth place … She took fourth place at the Pac-12 Championships with a toss of 53-10.5 (16.42m) in the event … At the NCAA West Preliminaries, she took 16th place with a 52-4 (15.95m), failing to qualify for the finals of the NCAA Championships … In the discus, Gibson had a season-best toss of 180-6 (55.02m) at the Pac-12 Championships, taking third place … At the NCAA West Preliminaries, Gibson punched her ticket to the finals of the NCAA Championships with a toss of 174-2 (53.09m), good for seventh place … At the NCAA Championships, Gibson took 16th place with a toss of 167-8 (51.11m), good for second-team NCAA All-America honors … In the hammer throw, Gibson set the No. 2 mark in UA history with a toss of 208-11 (63.68m) at the Pac-12 Championships, good for fifth place … It was the second-straight season that Gibson earned all-conference honors in all the shot put, discus and hammer … At the NCAA West Preliminaries, Gibson took 13th place and missed qualifying by one spot, throwing 197-3 (60.13m).

2012: Redshirted the indoor and outdoor season … Gibson did compete at the U.S. Olympic Trials, representing  the University of Arizona … In the women’s discus, Gibson had a mark of 177-2 in the preliminary round, good for a spot in the final … She took 12th place in the final with a toss of 148-4 … She also competed in the shot put, posting a mark of 55-2 in the preliminary round and advancing to the final … Gibson’s toss of 55-8.5 was good for ninth place in the final of the shot put.

2011: One of the top incoming recruits in the country in the throwing events, Gibson did not disappoint en route to one of the more impressive freshman campaigns in school history … Set UA top-10 marks in the shot put, discus and hammer throw events and became just the second student-athlete in school history to accomplish the feat and the only one to have at least a top-six mark in each event … Earned NCAA first-team All-America honors in the discus at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, reeling off several consecutive personal records on her way to a fifth-place finish with a best throw of 185-3 and the fourth-best throw in school history … Also earned second-team All-America distinction in the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Championships … Set the UA freshman record in the event with her career-best throw of 56-0 at the Mt. SAC relays … Posted all-conference finishes in all three of her events at the Pac-10 Championships … Also earned second-team All-America honors at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships in the shot put.

HIGH SCHOOL: A star in multiple sports, she left basketball to focus on the throws to the tune of a sweep of the Wyoming state titles in both the shot put and discus events in 2009 and 2010 ... Finished 2010 with the second-best prep discus throw in the nation at 171-4 and the sixth-best prep shot put mark at 48-10.5.

PERSONAL: She is the daughter of Bernie and Billie Jo Gibson … Has two older brothers … Majoring in pre-education.
