2013: Indoors, Romero clocked personal-best times in each of the four 400-meter races she competed in … She earned a runner-up finish at the MPSF Championships in the 400 meters with a time of 53.56 … Her personal-best time of 53.26 came at the Arkansas Final Qualifier and was good for fifth place but not fast enough to make the NCAA Indoor Championships … Romero also set a personal best in the 200 meters, running 23.65 at the Don Kirby Invitational … She took third place in the 200-meter dash at the MPSF Championships … Romero also dabbled in the 60-meter sprint during the indoor season and set a personal-best time of 7.59 at the Lumberjack Team Challenge … Romero, Shale’ Garland, Pridgett and Georganne Moline ran the 4x400-meter relay for the Wildcats throughout the season … Their season-best time of 3:36.35 was good for third place at the Razorback Invitational … The quartet ran 3:38.87 at the MPSF Championships and took fifth place overall … Outdoors, Romero clocked a personal-best time of 52.37 in the 400 meters at the Jim Click Shootout, the No. 4 time in Arizona history … She ran under 53 seconds on four occasions … At the Pac-12 Championships, Romero had the No. 2 qualifying time in the preliminaries, running 52.70 … In the final, she took third place overall with a time of 52.40 … In the 200 meters, Romero posted the fifth-best time in school history at  23.50 at the Jim Click Shootout … She ran the 100-meter dash on three occasions as well, clocking a personal-best time of 11.70 at the Stanford Invitational … The quartet of Traci-Lynn Hicks, Romero, Pridgett and Germe Poston clocked their season-best time of 44.75 at the NCAA West Preliminaries … That time was good for a trip to the NCAA Championships … At the NCAA Championships, they took 19th place in the semifinal round with a time of 45.13 … The quartet took fifth place in the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 45.28 … Romero led off the 4x400-meter relay with Pridgett, Garland and Moline also on the team … They had a season-best time of 3:32.25 at the NCAA Championships, just missing a spot in the final, taking ninth place and ranking as the fastest team to not qualify for that final … That time was No. 4 in school history … The quartet won the UA-ASU-NAU Double Dual with a time of 3:32.56 … They finished in third place at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 3:32.57 … At the NCAA West Preliminaries, they qualified on time and were the 11th team to advance out of 12 with a time of 3:33.97.

 

2012: Indoors, Romero posted a personal-best time of 24.11 in the 200-meter dash at the Boise State Team Challenge, good for third place … She clocked a time of 24.65 at the MPSF Championships, good for 12th place overall in the event … Also at the MPSF Championships, Romero clocked a personal-best time of 54.41 in the 400-meter run, good for third place … At the Boise State Team Challenge, Romero posted a time of 54.42, good for second place in the 400 meters … She was also a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that set the school record … At the MPSF Championships, the quartet of Romero, Shale’ Garland, Ariel Coleman and Echos Blevins clocked a season-best time of 3:36.13, good for second place … Outdoors, Romero clocked a personal-best time of 23.77 at the Mt. SAC Relays, good for fifth place overall … At the Pac-12 Championships, Romero’s time of 23.94 in the preliminary round was good for 10th place … At the preliminary portion of the NCAA Championships, Romero ran the two fastest races of her career in the 400 meters … In the first round, Romero’s personal-best time of 53.48 was good for 14th place overall and a spot in the quarterfinal … She clocked a time of 53.58 in the quarterfinal, taking 17th place overall … Additionally, Romero ran the third leg on the Pac-12 Champion 4x400-meter relay team, clocking a time of 3:31.85 ... The quartet of Romero, Echos Blevins, Tamara Pridgett and Georganne Moline did not lose a single race in the 4x400-meter relay heading into the NCAA Championships ... In the semifinal of the event, Romero and the 4x400-meter relay team had their undefeated streak snapped but they managed to make the final and set a school-record time of 3:31.06 … The women earned All-America honors in the event, taking sixth place in the final with a time of 3:31.55. 

2011: During the indoor season, her best time in the 200 meters came at the Texas A&M Challenge, posting a time of 24.72 … In the 400-meter dash, her personal best came at the MPSF Indoor Championships, where she earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 54.97 … Romero won the event at the Blue and Orange Opener, with a time of 56.61 … She took third at the Lumberjack Invitational, running 55.87 … Outdoors, primarily running the 400 meters, her best time came at the Pac-10 Championships where she finished sixth (53.62) … At the NCAA West Preliminaries, she finished 11th in the second round with a time of 53.69.

HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Romero was the team MVP her senior year … She holds the school record for the 400-meter dash.

PERSONAL: Born Fauve Shapri Romero … She is the daughter of Wayne Haye, and Randy and Rachel Anaya … She aspires to be a psychiatrist after college … Majoring in pre-human development and family studies.
