Cats Consistent in Round Two at NGRC

TUCSON, Ariz. No. 13 Arizona women’s golf was consistent in round two of play at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, holding on to fifth place on Tuesday. Three Wildcats remain in the top 20 heading into Tuesday’s final round. The Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, hosted by Ohio State, is being held at the Palos Verdes Golf Club (par 71, 6,017 yards) in Palos Verdes, Calif.

No. 1 USC took over the lead in the team race with a second round of 279 for a combined score of 567 (-1). No. 2 UCLA sits in second place with a 291 (+13). No. 3 Duke rounds out the top three with a 584 (+16). No. 13 Arizona remains steady in fifth place with rounds of 292 and 294 for a score of 586 (+18). Annie Park of USC continues to lead the individual race with a combined score of 134 (-8).

With a one-under round of 70 on Tuesday, No. 35 sophomore Lindsey Weaver broke into the top 10 and sits in a three-way tie for sixth place. She holds a combined score of 142 (E). Junior Andrea Vilarasau and freshman Jessica Vasilic share a seven-way tie for 17th place. Both players shot 72s in round one and 74s in round two for scores of 146 (+4).

No. 91 junior Kendall Prince shot a 76 in round two for a combined score of 152 (+10). She sits in a seven-way tie for 49th place. Junior Manon Gidali rounds out the Arizona five in a three-way tie for 74th place. She holds a score of 157 (+15) with a round one of 76 and a round two of 81.

Round three begins at 9 a.m. MT on Tuesday for the Wildcats and they’ll be paired with No. 4 Washington, No. 7 Arizona State and No. 26 Wake Forest. Live results are available at A complete recap and results will be available at after the final round of competition.
