2015: Indoors, set a personal best in the 3K at the MPSF Championships with a time of 9:41.94, good for a 23rd-place finish … Outdoors, took first place at the Willie Williams Classic with a season best time of 4:38.61 in the 1,500-meter run … Clocked a 4:43.34 at the Pac-12 Championships in the 1,500-meter race … Set a season best time at the San Francisco Carnival in the 5K with a time of 16:59.60, good for a 12th-place finish.
2014 (XC): Earned a ninth-place finish at the ASU Invite with a three-mile time of 18:41.43 … Clocked a three-mile time of 18:03 at the Dave Murray Invitational, good for a 13th-place finish … Competed at the Pac-12 Championships and finished in 39th place with a time of 21:17 in the 6K race.
2014: Indoors, Peterson was unable to compete due to injury … Outdoors, Peterson ran in two races for the Wildcats, the 1,500-emter race at the ASU Invitational and the 5K at the Willie Williams Classic.
2013 (XC): Peterson was able to get healthy and remain healthy from the 2013 outdoor season all the way until the latter part of the cross country season … Peterson scored for the Wildcats in five of the seven meets she competed in … She finished in ninth place overall (fourth Wildcat finisher) at the George Kyte Classic with a 5K time of 17:35.5 … At the Dave Murray Invitational, Penney’s three-mile time of 17:14.19 was good for fourth place (third Wildcat to cross the line) … Peterson was the fifth finisher for the Wildcats in the 6,000-meter races at the Roy Griak Invitational (27th; 21:39), Wisconsin adidas Invitational (56th; 20:41) and the Pac-12 Championships (32nd; 22:43) … Peterson was hobbled following the conference championships but competed for her team nonetheless … She was the seventh finisher at the NCAA West Regionals and NCAA Championships … Peterson was a key component of the women’s team that claimed the first conference championship in program history … She also helped the Wildcats earn a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championships, the best finish in program history … That second-place finish was the worst finish the women’s team had all season, winning six out of seven competitions.
2013: Indoors, Peterson ran the mile at 4:54.69 in the Razorback Invitational, a personal-best time … At the Husky Classic, she posted a time of 4:56.34 … She took 18th place at the MPSF Championships with a time of 4:56.65 in the mile … Outdoors, Peterson had a big personal best at the UA-ASU-NAU Double Dual where she ran the 1,500 meters in 4:35.48, good for second place … At the Pac-12 Championships she clocked a time of 4:41.75 in the preliminary round of the race.
2012 (XC): Peterson competed in three races for the Wildcats … At the George Kyte Classic, Peterson clocked a time of 19:02.5 in the 5K and finished in 28th place overall and seventh among UA runners … Peterson had a time of 19:10 in the Dave Murray Invitational and was the 12th-place finisher in the three-mile race … At the Grand Canyon Invitational, Peterson ran the 5K in 18:56.8 and finished in eighth place overall and was the fourth Wildcat to cross the finish line.
2012: Redshirted the indoor and outdoor season.
2011 (XC): Peterson competed in three meets as a freshman … She finished in 13th place at the George Kyte Classic, running 5,000 meters in 18:29.9 … She ran three miles in 18:09 at the Dave Murray Invitational, good for 15th place … Peterson earned a sixth-place finish at the Grand Canyon Invitational, clocking a time of 18:42.2 in the 5,000-meter race.
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Martin Luther King Jr. High School, she was the team captain in 2010 and 2011 … She was also the MVP for cross country in 2010 and track and field in 2010 and 2011 … She was an all-state selection in 2009 and 2010 for cross country … She is the school record holder for 5,000 meters cross country, 800 meters and 1,600 meters.PERSONAL: She is the daughter of Brad and Beth Peterson.
