TUCSON, Ariz. – After a 23-8 regular season and a third-place finish in the Pac-12, the Arizona volleyball team earned the No. 11 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats will host the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 4 and 5.
Arizona will welcome Yale, BYU and Seton Hall for the two-day affair at McKale. Seton Hall and BYU will play at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday before Arizona takes on Yale at 6:30 p.m. MST. The two winners will then play on Friday at 5:30 p.m. All times are tentative and subject to change.
This marks the first time since 2002 that Arizona has earned the opportunity to host the first and second rounds, and just the eighth time that there has been NCAA action in Tucson overall. UA also hosted in 1982, 1983, 1989, 1993, 1994, 2000. The Wildcats are 9-0 in NCAA Tournament games in Tucson.
Arizona’s 23 regular-season victories are the most since winning 25 in 2000 while its 12 conference wins are the most since winning 14 in 2005.
All session tickets are now available. Adult tickets are $16 dollars and youth/students are $10. Single session tickets will go on sale on Tuesday. All seats are general admission. The Arizona ticket office opens tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. MST.
