TUCSON, Ariz. – The Wildcats will get back after it this weekend, as they'll send three players to take part in the Larry Easley Memorial Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. Competition begins Friday at 9 am and will conclude Sunday.
Sophomore Shoki Kasahara, senior Trevor James and freshman Will Adkisson will represent Arizona in the event. This will be Adkisson and James's third tournament of the season, while it will be Kasahara's second.
“This is a great opportunity for us to compete against a very high level of competition,” said head coach Tad Berkowitz. “ Our guys have been working hard and I'm excited to see their progress.”
The Wildcats will go up against athletes from seven other programs, including Boise State, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Northern Arizona, Gand Canyron, UNLV and Mesa Community College.
Friday the Cats will compete in one flight of doubles and two rounds of singles competition.
Adkisson and Kasahara will team up in doubles play.
Adkisson has performed well this fall, as he recently defeated Air Force's Tadgh Collins, 7-5, 6-4 at the New Mexico Balloon Fiesta Invitational, giving him an overall record of 4-2.
Along with Adkisson, James will also go into this weekend's tournament with a winning record of 3-2 in singles play.
