Week 12 Recap: The Wildcats lost to Arizona State by a score of 4-1 on senior night. Hayley Estopare scored her fifth goal of the season, which is second on the team.
First Time for Everything: Arizona is hosting the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. It is also the first time that Northern Colorado has qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
Stoian in the Record Books: Sophomore attacker Gabi Stoian has 15 career assists, which is third on the Arizona all-time assist list. The sophomore's eight assists this season is also tied with DeGracie for the second-most assists in one season. Stoian also has 53 career points (tied for the fourth most) and 19 career goals (fifth most).
DeGracie's Dimes: Junior midfielder Jaden DeGracie was credited with an assist on Hayley Estopare's goal on Friday against Arizona State. She is now tied with Mallory Miller for the most career assist in Arizona history with 19. She has seven this year, which is second on the team and is also tied for the fourth-most in one season in Arizona history.
Ironwomen: Senior defender Sheaffer Skadsen has been a model of consistency on the pitch this season for the Wildcats. She has played in 1,741 of the 1,755 minutes this season and has played every minute of the last 18 matches. Fellow senior defenders Alexa Montgomery and Laura Pimienta are not far behind as they have played in 1,532 and 1,500 minutes respectively.
You Get a Goal! And You Get a Goal!: 15 Wildcats have scored a total of 32 goals this season. That the most players with at least one goal in a season in Arizona history.
Building A Legacy: The Wildcats will honor six seniors on Friday (Hayley Estopare, Alexa Montgomery, Kaitlyn Lopez, Alison Gondosch, Hannah Wong and Sheaffer Skadsen). This group of seniors has a record of 37-31-10, which is the third-most wins of any class.
Conference Honors: The Pac-12 Conference announced on Tuesday that sophomore Gabi Stoian was selected to the All-Pac-12 First Team and that senior Sheaffer Skadsen was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection as well.
Best in a Decade: The Wildcats finished with 19 conference points this season after going 6-4-1 in Pac-12, which is tied for fourth with California. Those six conference victories are tied for the most in school history as the 2004 squad went 6-3 in the Pac-10. This is also just the third time in school history that Arizona has finished in the top five in the conference and the first time since 2005.
A Helping Hand: Of the 33 goals Arizona has scored this season, 28 of them have been assisted. 34 total team assists in first in the conference and Gabi Stoian's eight assists are first.
Not up in Here: The Wildcats have kept eight clean sheets so far this season. The eight clean sheets is the third-most in school history. The 2004 squad finished the season with a total of 12.
Newcomers Making an Impact: Four freshmen have scored a goal this season (Kennedy Kieneker, Chelle Mahoney, Erica Stephan and Jessica Nelson). Last year's team only had two freshmen score a goal.
No Longer a Secret: The regular attendance at Mulcahy Stadium this season is something that hasn't been seen before in a long time. After a school record 1,302 people were at the Arizona State match, the average attendance for the 2015 season finished at 909, which is easily the best in Arizona history. Five of the top 14 crowds in school history have occurred this season, with three of them in the top four.
You can Count on Them: Defenders Sheaffer Skadsen and Alexa Montgomery have been staples in the Arizona starting XI this season. They are the only two Wildcats to start every single match this season.
Keys to Victory: There have been some trends this season that have been key to Arizona's success this season. The Wildcats are 10-1 when scoring first, 7-1-1 when scoring more than one goal, 8-1-1 when outshooting the opponent, 7-1 when the opponent takes less than 10 shots, 6-0 when leading at halftime, and 8-2-2 when coming off of a win.
Battle Tested: Six of Arizona's 18 opponents have been ranked so far and the Wildcats hold a record of 3-2-1 against them. All in all, Arizona's 18 opponents have a combined record of 157-114-28.
