TUCSON, Ariz. - Questions and answers with junior forward Candice Osei-Agyemang.
How do you feel preseason went?
“It went really well. The biggest thing is that we bonded as a team and got a chance to see how each other plays. We also got to see the new coaching style, which is great. From last season, we’ve progressed already in terms of unity on and off the field.”
What are you most looking forward to for the upcoming season?
“A chance to show ourselves because we don’t have much to lose right now. The only thing we can do is go out there and surprise people. We have the underdog advantage so that’s the best thing to look forward to.”
How has your role on the team changed from last season?
“Now, our roles are more defined. I don’t necessarily have a different role but I think there’s more emphasis on getting down the field in the attack and defensively, we make sure everybody is defending, not just the defenders. Also, it’s nice to be able to express ourselves since the coaches don’t frown upon taking chances.”
What was your first impression of Coach Amato?
“Immediately, when we had our first meeting with him, he was so supportive and we could tell he’s very structured and organized. He outlines things so well that there’s no question on what we should do.”
