TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona women’s golf completed the third and final round of competition at the Dale McNamara Fall Preview in Tulsa, Okla. on Wednesday. Also host to the 2014 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships, the Fall Preview was played at Tulsa Country Club (par 70, 61,36 yards).
Defending NCAA Champion USC won the team race with an 848 (+8). Oklahoma earned a runner-up finish with an 852 (+12). Oklahoma State rounded out the top three with an 855 (+15). Arizona finished eighth with a score of 861 (+21). The Cats had daily rounds of 283, 292, and 296. Kyung Kim of USC was the individual medalist with a score of 204 (-6).
Junior Andrea Vilarasau paced the Wildcats with a tied for 10th-place finish. She shot rounds of 69, 73 and 69 for a score of 211 (+1). Sophomore Lindsey Weaver rallied for 32nd to 14th on the final day of play with her carding of 67. She had first and second-round scores of 74 and 72 to finish with a 213 (+3).
Junior Kendall Prince shared an eight-way tie for 28th place. Her scores of 69, 71 and 78 totaled 218 (+8). Freshman Jessica Vasilic finished in a four-way tie for 47th place. She carded a score of 221 (+11) with individual rounds of 71, 76 and 74. Junior Shelby Martinek rounded out the Arizona five in 64th place. Her rounds of 74, 77 and 76 scored a 227 (+17).Arizona will play next at the Windy City Classic, Sept. 30-Oct. 1, in Chicago, Ill.
