TUCSON, Ariz. Arizona soccer completed practice Wednesday night at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium. The Wildcats are set to host No. 11 UCLA on Sun. Sept., 29 at 2 p.m. for their first Pac-12 match of the season.

Below are assistant coach Paul Nagy and Brie DeFelice’s comments following practice:

Assistant coach Paul Nagy:

On coaching philosophy going in to first Pac-12 match:

“From day one we have been working as a team to get better as a team. It’s been the same philosophies and principles of what we want to do we just have to get better at it each day.”

On specific focus this week:

“This week we have been working on our foundation of the defensive principles. It’s a matter of focusing in on it and making sure they know exactly what we want to do going in to the Pac-12.”

Junior Brie DeFelice:

On thoughts of team this far in to the season:

“We have come a long way as a team and established our identity. We really keyed in on the factors that we are the strongest in and really hit our weaknesses hard to accomplish getting better at them.”

On what team needs to work on this week:

“Mostly we need to work on our organization. We need to come together as a team and figure out what they are planning on doing and breaking that down to attack it.”

On major changes between last year and this year:

“This year we know who we are. We have a game plan and know what our strengths are.”
