Tennis Caps Off Successful ITA Regional Tournament

Arizona women’s tennis fell in both singles and doubles in the quarterfinal round and round of 16 at the ITA Regionals on Saturday.

Seniors Kim Stubbe and Lacey Smyth fell to the nation’s No. 1 ranked team, USC’s Christian and Santamaria, 8-2. Senior Akilah James and freshman Lauren Marker fell in a close 8-6 decision to USC’s Olmos and Scandalis.

Stubbe also made it to the quarterfinal round in singles play, but retired her match to USC’s Brynn Boren in the second set.
