After sweeping UCLA and No. 1 USC over the weekend, the Arizona volleyball team claimed a spot on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll, listed at No. 25, Monday afternoon.

Arizona (15-5, 5-3) has won three straight matches and it is coming off its most successful weekend of the year by sweeping both UCLA and No. 1 USC. This marks Arizona’s first national ranking since earning a No. 20 spot on Nov. 29, 2010.

On the RPI side, used more weightily by the NCAA Selection Committee, Arizona improved to No. 17 on Monday. The Wildcats were No. 30 in last week’s RPI rankings.

In addition to Arizona’s victory over No. 1 USC, the Wildcats have also defeated No. 21 Oregon and several teams ranked in the top-50 of the RPI.

Arizona hits the road for a four-match road swing beginning with Colorado and Utah this weekend. The Wildcats will take on the Buffaloes on Friday at 6 p.m. before taking on Utah on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Utah match will air on the Pac-12 Networks.
