Arizona women’s basketball (4-7, 0-0) will open Pac-12 play in Seattle, Wash. to take on Washington (7-4, 0-0) at 8 p.m. MT on Friday, Jan. 3.
The Wildcats are coming off a three-game winning streak after defeating Texas Tech, UC Riverside and Arkansas Pine-Bluff, all at home.
Sophomore Keyahndra Cannon, freshman Breanna Workman and senior Carissa Crutchfield all posted season-high numbers in the win over Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Sunday, all recording 14 points. Crutchfield was perfect on the day after shooting 5-for-5 from the field, including 4-for-4 from behind the arc. Cannon also was 4-for-4 from the three-point line.
Six players have led UA in scoring this season, including seniors Kama Griffitts, Erica Barnes and Crutchfield, junior Candice Warthen, Cannon and Workman.
Washington finished its non-conference season on a two-game winning streak behind three players averaging double-digit scoring. Junior Jazmine Davis leads the pack with 18.8 ppg, freshman Kelsey Plum is not far behind at 18.3 ppg and sophomore Talia Walton averages 13.9 ppg.
Junior Aminah Williams leads the Huskies in rebounding with 11.0 rpg, while senior Mercedes Wetmore ranks second in the Pac-12 in assist to turnover ratio.
Washington holds a 37-20 edge in the all-time series with Arizona, including a 21-5 mark at home. The Wildcats last won in Seattle on February 19, 2011.
