TUCSON, Ariz. - Four University of Arizona Athletics academic standouts were named Student-Athletes of the Month for January and February. Amber Wobma of gymnastics, LeeAndra Smith of soccer, Jack Banda of football and Matt Dunn of men’s tennis were honored by Arizona's C.A.T.S. Academics staff.
UA student-athletes are recognized for their outstanding academic effort, demonstrating academic improvement, solid academic performance and evidence of personal character, integrity and standing out as a role model.
Wobma and the gymnastics team have six meets remaining on the competition schedule. They return to McKale Center on Sunday, March 9 as they take on Pac-12 opponent Oregon State at 12 p.m. MST. Smith and the soccer team are in the middle of spring training. They'll play will five matches as part of the spring competition slate.
Dunn and the men's tennis team are 9-6 on the season. They return to action vs. Louisville on Mon., March 10, at 12 p.m. Banda and the football team started spring practice on Monday. The annual Spring Game will be held Sat., April 12, at Arizona Stadium.
