Women’s Golf Set for SunTrust Gator Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. No. 12 Arizona women’s golf will continue the spring season with the SunTrust Gator Women’s Invitational, hosted by Florida, this weekend. Held at Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla., competition will take place Fri.-Sun., March 14-16.

One round of play will be contested each day with 6 a.m. MST/PT tee times. Mark Bostick Golf Course is a par 70, 6,002-yard club. Live results are available at golfstat.com. A complete recap and results will be available at ArizonaWildcats.com after each day of competition.

Juniors Kendall Prince and Andrea Vilarasau, sophomore Lindsey Weaver and freshmen Jessica Vasilic and Wanasa Zhou will be competing for the Wildcats this weekend. Junior Manon Gidali will play as an individual. By Golfweek.com, Weaver is ranked No. 17, Prince is No. 93, Vasilic is No. 102 and Vilarasau is No. 103.

No. 12 Arizona, No. 16 Florida, No. 42 Florida State, Furman, No. 37 Kent State, No. 31 Miami, No. 30 Ohio State, No. 14 Oklahoma, Old Dominion, Penn State, No. 32 Texas A&M, USF, UTSA and No. 29 Virginia will play in Gainesville this weekend. (Rankings according to golfstat.com 3/12/14)

Last time out, the Wildcats earned a fourth-place team finish at the Bruin Wave Invitational. UA collected rounds of 299, 295 and 305. Lindsey Weaver was Arizona’s top finisher in a tie for eighth place. Weaver collected her third top-10 finish of the season and her seventh round at or below par. She had scores of 73, 71 and 74 for a score of 218 (+2).
