TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona women’s golf completed rounds one and two of the Silverado Showdown on Monday. Hosted by Colorado and Oregon, Mon.-Tues., April 14-15, the two-day, three-round tournament is being held at Silverado Resort and Spa North Course (par 72, 6,196 yards) in Napa, Calif. Two rounds of play were contested Monday and the final round will be played Tuesday.
No. 11 Washington leads the team race with a 581 (+5) after two rounds. No. 1 USC sits in second place with a 582 (+6). Oregon State rounds out the top three with a 583 (+7). No. 9 Arizona sits in fifth place with a 590 (+14). The Wildcats collected rounds of 294 (+6) and 296 (+8) on Monday.
No. 17 sophomore Lindsey Weaver leads the individual race with a combined score of 136 (-8). She fired rounds of 69 (-3) and 67 (-5) to secure a two-stroke lead on the field. She also collected her 10th and 11th rounds at or below par on the season.
Junior Kendall Princes shares a three-way tie for 15th place. She scored rounds of 72 and 74 for a combined total of 146 (+2). No. 31 freshman Wanasa Zhou sits in a four-way tie for 33rd place. She collected rounds of 76 and 74 for a score of 150 (+6).
No. 79 freshman Jessica Vasilic sits in a five-way tie for 58th place. She holds a score of 158 (+14) with rounds of 77 and 81 on Monday. No. 92 junior Andrea Vilarasau rounds out the Arizona five in 73rd place. She shots rounds of 85 and 81 for a score of 166 (+22).
Round three will begin at 8:30 a.m. PT/MST on Tuesday and No. 9 Arizona will be paired with No. 20 Northwestern and San Jose State.
