Flagstaff- Arizona rising senior Alex McMahon shot a nine-under 61, putting him at -7(72-61-133) bumping him into fifth place after two rounds of the Pacific Amateur Championship at Pine Canyon Club in Flagstaff.
McMahon's nine-under bested the Pine Canyon record books for the lowest ever competitive course record. His round consisted of nine birdies and a lone eagle, placing him a favorable spot as he gets ready for round three.
Held on an annual basis since 1967, with roots dating back to 1901, the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship boasts a rich history of showcasing some of the most talented golfers in the United States and Canada. The tournament is comprised of amateur players from the Pacific Northwest, Northern California, Southern California, Oregon and Arizona.
Round three tee time for McMahon will be at nine in the morning local time Thursday, July 24 .
