TUCSON, Ariz. -

Arizona women’s tennis junior Lacey Smyth (Oceanside, Calif.) was given All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors for the second-consecutive year, Commissioner Larry Scott announced on Wednesday.

Smyth earned the honor after playing at the No. 1 singles spot in every match for the Wildcats this season, facing some of the nation’s top talent. She posted an impressive 16-8 record, including wins over four top-80 ranked players. She earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors on two different occasions.

Smyth also earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention accolades in 2012.

“Lacey has been a very consistent performer for us, ever since she joined the Wildcats,” Arizona head coach Vicky Maes said. “She is driven and tenacious and always brings a feisty attitude to competition. This is a well-deserved honor for her and I'm truly happy for her.”

Smyth will compete in the 2013 NCAA women’s tennis singles championship beginning Wednesday, May 22.
