TUCSON, Ariz. Golf World magazine announced Senior Writer & Campus Insider Ryan Herrington’s top-50 female players to watch for the 2013-14 NCAA season. The results will appear in the Sept. 2, 2013 issue of Golf World. Two members of the Arizona women’s golf squad, junior Manon Gidali and sophomore Lindsey Weaver, were among those recognized among the NCAA’s best.

Among those listed on the top 50, six of the top-10 players are from the Pac-12 and 16 of the top 50 play in the Conference of Champions. In 2012-13, Gidali shot a low round of 68 and a low tournament of 213 (-3). She claimed one win and five top-10 finishes.

Weaver played her freshman season at Notre Dame where she shared co-medalist honors at the BIG EAST Championships. She was selected as the BIG EAST Women's Golf Player of the Year, named by unanimous vote the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and to the All-BIG EAST Women's Golf Team. She joined the Arizona squad this summer.

The Wildcats open 20-13-14 with the Dale McNamara Fall Preview, hosted by the University of Tulsa. Played at Tulsa Country Club, the course will be a test run for many as the Golden Hurricane will also host the 2014 NCAA Championships.
