Former Arizona women’s basketball power forward Ify Ibekwe became a member of the Ibaizabal Galdakao basketball team in Spain, the Eurobasket Data Center announced on Tuesday.
She will embark on her third year as a professional basketball player.
Ibekwe last played at Union Hainaut in the French league, where she recorded 16.3 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 1.0 apg and 1.8 spg in 12 games. She ended the season at Beroil Ciudad de Burgos.
In 2011, Ibekwe was drafted 24th by the Seattle Storm, after graduating from Arizona.
With the Wildcats, Ibekwe led her team in scoring with 16.1 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game. She had 14 double-doubles, 25 games in double-digit scoring and 15 games in double-digit rebounding. She was named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year, All-Pac-10 and a member of the Pac-10 All-Defensive Team.
