What did you improve on most this offseason?

“I was able to grab a hold of the offense in terms of my assignments. We did a lot of catching drills with the quarterbacks in the offseason.”

As a senior, has your role on the team changed at all?

“As a senior, you want to take a more authoritative role on the team. It’s my last year of playing college football so I want to make it the best year it can be. Seniors try to step up in the weight room when the coaches aren’t around to lead guys in the right direction and be that support if the guys have questions. In that aspect, my role has changed from being the person asking the questions to answering those questions.”

Do you have any pregame or game day rituals?

“I lay my clothes out in front of me. I have a pregame playlist that I listen to but once we get to the field, I focus on getting warmed up.”

In what ways have you developed since your freshman year?

“I’m calmer out on the field because I’ve understood that football is still football at the end of the day. When I first got here, the pace was very fast but after a while, the game slowed down and it became just football again to me.”

What is your favorite part about playing at Arizona?

“Playing out there in front of our fans. Being out there in front of 50,000 people who want to see you play hard gives you a lot of energy. Sometimes you run a little faster and hit a little harder so it’s always great to play in front of ZonaZoo and our fans, it’s amazing.”

What impact does Coach Rodriguez have on you?

“Coach Rodriguez and his staff have brought a sense of winning by changing the culture around here. They brought a winning culture to our team.”

What is your most memorable moment at Arizona?

“Last year at the New Mexico Bowl when we beat Nevada.”

What do you think of the new Lowell Stevens Facility?

“It’s great. Everything is so accommodating since we have our training facility, locker room and lounge all in one place.”

What does Bear Down mean to you?

“Hold down and get it done. Bear Down is Arizona football to me because it means we’re going to win this game.”
