TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona soccer completed practice Tuesday night at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium. The Wildcats play host to No. 11 UCLA on Sun. Sept., 29 at 2 p.m. for their first Pac-12 match of the season.
Below are Head Coach Tony Amato and freshman Jaden DeGracie’s comments following practice:
Head Coach Tony Amato:
On the mentality going in to the first Pac-12 match:
"The mentality isn't any different. We've been laying the groundwork from day one knowing the Pac-12 schedule was ahead of us. We expect our team to compete and battle every step of the way."
On focus of going in to Pac-12 play:
"We're looking to improve every single time we're out. We want to get better from where we were on Friday. We've gone through film, we've talked to players, we've set goals and we have to get better going into UCLA."
Freshman Jaden DeGracie:
On thoughts of the team this far into the season:
"We have a strong work ethic. Everyone gives 100% no matter the drill. Everyone is busting their but to get the job done but we have fun doing it."
On improvements team needs to make:
"In a lot of our games we've gone to double overtime and haven't been able to get a goal. I think we need to finish our opportunities so we can win those close games."
