TUCSON, Ariz. – After opening Pac-12 play with a setback at No. 16 Arizona State on Tuesday night, the Arizona volleyball team continues its conference road swing at California on Friday night inside Haas Pavilion.

Arizona (10-3, 0-1 Pac-12) will look to end California’s (7-3, 0-1 Pac-12) six-match winning streak against the Wildcats. The Cats last defeated the Bears on Nov. 22, 2009 and they last won in Berkeley all the way back on Oct. 31, 2003.

Madi Kingdon, the reigning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, continues to be one of the top all-around players in the league. She currently leads the league in both points (236.5) and points per set (5.38), while also leading the league in total kills (196) and double-doubles (6).

The Wildcats have been one of the best defensive teams in the Pac-12 as their 16.65 digs per set leads the league, while their .136 opponent hitting percentage ranks third in the conference. Arizona already has 12 combined double-doubles on the year, the most of any team in the Pac-12.

California has lost three straight contests including its first Pac-12 match against No. 7 Stanford on Wednesday. The Golden Bears rank in the top four of the conference in most categories including hitting percentage (.303), assists (13.76), kills (14.62) and digs (15.38). Adrienne Gehan leads Cal on the offensive end as she ranks third in the Pac-12 in kills (4.35 p/s) and third in points (4.97 p/s).

Following the contest at Cal, the Wildcats return home for a pair of contests against Oregon and Oregon State. Arizona will host nationally ranked Oregon on Friday, Oct. 4 and Oregon State on Oct. 6. The Oregon State match will air live on the Pac-12 Networks.
