EUGENE, Ore. –Arizona women’s soccer fell to Oregon, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Pape Field in Eugene, Ore. The Cats split another difficult weekend of Pac-12 Conference road play after winning at Oregon State on Friday. They stand at 6-5-3 on the season and 1-3-0 in league action.
Arizona’s offense recorded a total of 14 shots, led by junior Alexandra Doller with four. The Wildcats held Oregon scoreless for 60 minutes until the Ducks found the back of the net.
Moving to 3-6-3 on the season, Oregon freshman Shay Miner recorded the Ducks game-winning goal in the 60th minute crediting the assist to Reilley Moore. Oregon outshot Arizona, 19-14, with Bri Pugh leading the team with four, including one on goal.
"It was a tough game overall," head coach Tony Amato said. " We know you have to win the key moments in the match from both an attacking and defending standpoint. That was the deciding factor in the match today and made all the difference in the result."
In the net, goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman recorded eight saves for the Wildcats while Oregon goalkeeper Abby Steele recorded four saves.
Up next, Arizona is on the road again to California to take on Southern California on Fri. Oct., 18 at 3 p.m. The match will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
