TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona women’s golf will continue the fall season at the UNCW Landfall Tradition this weekend in Wilmington, N.C. The three-day, three-round tournament will be held at the Country Club of Landfall Friday-Sunday with 8:30 a.m. ET tee times for rounds one and two and an 8:45 a.m. ET tee time on Sunday.
After playing 10 of its first 11 years on the club’s Jack Nicklaus course, the tournament has moved to the Pete Dye Course, site of the 1995 and 2010 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships.
Juniors Manon Gidali, Kendall Prince and Andrea Vilarasau, sophomore Lindsey Weaver and freshman Wanasa Zhou will compete for the Wildcats this weekend. Zhou will be making her season debut as part of the travel squad.
Eighteen teams and six individuals will compete on the par 72, 6,204-yard layout that borders the Intracoastal Waterway near Wrightsville Beach. In addition to host UNCW, the field features Alabama, Arizona, Clemson, Duke, Iowa State, Michigan State, Mississippi, North Carolina, UNC Greensboro, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, South Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest.
Ten of Golfstat’s top-25 teams are entered: Oklahoma State (3), Duke (4), Arizona (7), Alabama (10), Clemson (13), Iowa State (14), N.C. State (15), South Carolina (19), Michigan State (21) and Ohio State (23). Individually, 15 of the top-50 players in the Golfstat rankings are scheduled to appear in the event, including three of the top seven players in the land.Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com throughout the tournament.
