Cats Off to Fast Start in Landfall Tradition

TUCSON, Ariz. – Kendall Prince led Arizona with a 74 (+2) to open The Landfall Tradition on the Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C. on Friday.

Her score leaves her in a nine-player tie for 10th-place after day one, and helped the Cats to a fourth-place team score.

Arizona shot a 304 (+16) to get there, and is currently 19 strokes behind field-leader Alabama, who shot a 285 (-3). Rounding out the top three is Duke in second with a 295 (+7) and South Carolina in third with a 300 (+12).

Other contributors to Arizona’s team score were Manon Gidali, Wanasa Zhou, and Lindsey Weaver. Gidali is currently in a tie for 25th-place after shooting a 76 (+4), while Zhou and Weaver are both tied for 33rd with a pair of 77s (+5).

Wildcat Andrea Vilarasau also competed on the day, shooting an 83 (+11) to enter a 78th-place tie.

The individual field is currently led by Stephanie Meadow of Alabama, who opened her weekend with a 70 (-2).

The tournament will continue on Saturday, as the Cats hit the links starting with Vilarasau teeing off at 9:15 a.m. ET. Zhou, Weaver, Gidali, and Prince will follow with times of 9:24 a.m., 9:33 a.m., 9:42 a.m., and 9:51 a.m. ET, respectively. Live stats will be provided by
