PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The first ranked University of Arizona women's golf team is in first place after the second day of play at the TRW Regional Challenge with a team score of 11-over-par 579. The tournament is being held at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in the Palos Altos Estates, which is a par-71, 5,900 yard course.
Sophomore Cristina Baena dropped three places to be tied for fourth place with junior Christina Monteiro, shooting a two-day total of 1-over-par 143. Arizona senior Jill Gomric fell four places to tie her for eighth place going into the third and final day of play at the TRW Regional Challenge, posting a two-day score of 3-over-par 145. UA junior Jenna Daniels jumped 45 places to be in 24th place after the second round of play with a score of 9-over-par 151. Rounding out the Wildcat line up is freshman Julia Kraschinski who finished eight places higher than yesterday in 32nd place (11-over-par 153).
Southern California, Pepperdine, Georgia and Arizona State finish out the top five schools after day-two of play, while Georgia's Shauna Estes holds the individual lead (4-under-par 138).
Tomorrow will be the third and final day of play with the last 18 holes of play.
