HOUSTON - The 51st-ranked University of Arizona Men's tennis team fell to No. 66 Rice, 1-6, Friday, in their first away match of the season.

Arizona (4-2 overall, 0-1 Pacific-10) earned their only match point in singles play. At the No. 4 spot, senior Jari Niskala defeated Vuk Rajevac, 6-4, 7-6, 6-4. At the No. 5 spot, Roeland Brateanu fell short to Alexis Pourchet, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(7).

The undefeated Owls (8-0) swept the Cats in doubles play.

The Cats play tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. against North Carolina State and at 2:30 p.m. against Lamar University in Houston, Texas.
