Arizona Qualifies Four Divers for NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The University of Arizona qualified four divers this weekend for the 2001 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The Wildcats completed the Division I Zone E Diving Championships today at the Weyerhaeuser King Count Aquatic Center.

On the men's side of the event junior Omar Ojeda won his second event this afternoon on the three meter. Ojeda won the one meter yesterday and qualified for NCAA's on both the one and three meter boards. Fellow junior Ruben Vaca took home first place on the platform event which qualified him for the NCAA Championships.

The Wildcat women had two athletes qualify for the meet as well. Seniors Lindsay Berryman and Adrian David. David qualified on the one meter and Berryman on the platform event.

Arizona's women's swimming and diving team will travel to Long Island, N.Y., for the 2001 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships March 15-17. The men's team will travel to College Station, Texas, March 22-24 for the 2001 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.
