Wildcat Women Seeking Another Arizona Basketball Classic Title

The Arizona women's basketball team will be seeking its seventh title in the annual Arizona Basketball Classic when it faces Fresno State on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. in the final contest of the tournament at the McKale Center.

Fresno State fell to 2-4 on the season Saturday with an 83-73 loss to Bowling Green in the second game of the tournament.

Sophomore guard Lindsay Logan leads Fresno State in scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game after a 27-point effort against Bowling Green. Sophomore center Channan High grabbed a team-high 10 boards in the BGSU game and is the Bulldogs' top rebounder, at 8.2 per game.

The Wildcat women are 5-1 overall and are on a four-game win streak after a convincing 99-43 victory over Bowling Green in the first game of the tournament on Friday.

With 17.2 points per game, junior forward Elizabeth Pickney leads four Wildcats averaging in double digits in scoring. Although she will not be playing on Sunday due to injury, freshman forward Veranda James is close behind in scoring, at 16.2 ppg, and is leading both Arizona and the Pac-10 in rebounding with 10.2 rpg.
