Four UA Golfers Garner Post-Season Honors

TUCSON, Ariz (June 1) - Following a season that saw the Wildcats win the NCAA West Regional and place fourth at the NCAA Championships, four Arizona women's golfers were named to Golfweek/Sagarin All-District teams.

Wildcat junior Jenna Daniels (Bonita, Calif.) was named to the All-Far West District first team after leading the UA with a scoring average of 73.90. A first team All-Pac-10 selection as well, she won the NCAA West Region individual title, tied for seventh at the NCAA Championships and had eight top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments this season.

Senior Krissie Register (Roswell, Ga.), who also tied for seventh at the rain-shortened NCAA Championships, was named to the All-Far West District second team. She concluded her career with the team's second-best scoring average this season (75.03) and had four top-10 finishes. Junior Jill Gomric (Belleville, Ill.) was also named to the All-Far West District second team. She placed eighth at the Pac-10 Championships, had four top-10 performances and a 75.28 average.

Freshman Cristina Baena (Pereira, Columbia) was a All-Far West District honorable mention selection following a collegiate debut that saw her turn in five top-10 finishes in her 10 tournaments. She was Arizona's top finisher at the Pac-10 Championships with a tie for sixth and had a scoring average of 75.18.
