Wildcat Women's Soccer to Host "Meet the Team" Scrimmage

TUCSON, Ariz. (Aug. 11) -- Featurning a new head coach and 12 new players, the University of Arizona women's soccer team will give fans a sneak preview of the 2000 squad on Friday, Aug. 18, with a special "Meet the Team" scrimmage.

The Cats will suit up and play an intrasquad scrimmage beginning at 7 p.m. Immediately after the game, all players and staff members will be available for autographs and general interaction with fans.

The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a free Pepsi and a hot dog, while the first 400 fans will receive a UA women's soccer autograph card. All activities will be held at the UA's Murphey Soccer Stadium, located at 15th Street and Plumer Avenue.

Arizona kicks off the new season officially the first weekend of September with a two-game road swing in Tennessee. The Cats play at Tennessee on Friday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. EDT, then they take on Vanderbilt on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. CDT.
