TUCSON--Arizona couldn't come up with the long ball it had hit a bunch during the weekend -- 12 home runs -- but still did the right things in beating Florida, 5-0, for the championship of the Wildcat Invitational softball tournament Sunday.

Pitcher Jenny Finch threw a one-hitter and struck out nine, plus faced only two over the minimum to thwart a Gators hitting attack which had knocked out nine or more hits in each of its four previous tourney games including a season-high 14 on Saturday against Southern Utah.

Toni Mascarenas' two doubles and two runs batted in helped pace the Cats, who improved to 20-0 and finished 5-0 in the tournament to Florida's 3-2 second-place record.

Arizona had 50 team home runs entering the game but were kept from hitting one by three Gators pitchers, for only the third game of the season.

UA plays host to Eastern Michigan Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. at Hillenbrand Stadium, then hosts its final home tournament of the year, the Hillenbrand Invitational, Friday through Sunday before heading to California for games in San Diego and at the Kia Klassic in Fullerton during Spring Break.
