Arizona Head Coach Mike Candrea:
"Obviously, when you are in this situation, a victory is a big victory for us right now. It was really nice to see our bats wake up a little bit. Now we will take one game at a time, one inning at a time and one pitch at a time to try and get hot and keep playing. It was a good performance. I thought Becky Lemke did a very nice job and we scored some runs early; that is the key to Arizona softball. We needed to breed some confidence this time of the year. I think this team is excited and fired up and ready to play as long as we need to."

Toni Mascarenas - Arizona Third Baseman:
On what she had for breakfast: "Confidence. On Thursday, coming out we lost our confidence after she (Southern Mississippi's Courtney Blades) was getting all of us out. But today I think we were swinging our bats and looking for our pitch to drive."

Nicole Giordano - Arizona Outfielder:
On her performance today: "Tonight I was seeing the ball really well. I like to hit more than slap but I know I needed to get on base. We needed to score early to help our team's confidence. If the slappers get on it helps the meat of our lineup."

California Head Coach Diane Ninemire:
"We played a really good team in Arizona. Arizona was ready to hit the ball and got the runs in to get the job done. We left a lot of runs in scoring position in the first few innings but weren't able to get the key hits when we needed to get a run. Arizona did a great job. We didn't do the things we needed to do to win the game."

On the decision to start Nicole DiSalvio on the mound: "DiSalvio had a great game against Fresno State and was coming on very strong toward the end of the year. I felt very confident that Nicole could go in there and do a great job. She was hitting her spots well. She throws very hard. I felt she could do the job against Arizona. Unfortunately, neither pitcher did the job today. I know they put the effort forward and that's all a coach can ask for."

Lisa Iancin - California Second Baseman:
"We are a very young team. This is a great experience for us, especially the freshman. This is a good experience for them to go into next year. Hopefully we can take something from this year and build on it like we did last year."

Veronica Nelson - California First Baseman:
On being walked a lot: "By now I'm used to it because I have been walked so much this year. I know that Lisa (Iancin) is behind me and she is a great hitter and she has so much experience. Now when I get walked, I feel I'm going to get hit in by Lisa. I feel that that's helping the team, instead of me getting frustrated."
