Jenna Daniels Named Rolex Collegiate Golfer of the Month

Tucson, Ariz. Following one tournament title and a runner-up performance at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, University of Arizona senior golfer Jenna Daniels has been named the Rolex College Women's Golfer of the Month for April. It's the second time she has received the honor this season, with the last coming in November after she won the first of her two titles in 1999-2000.

Daniels, who is the nation's No. 1 ranked golfer and the Pac-10's Golfer of the Year, won the Ping/ASU Invitational by eight strokes on April 9. She followed that with a second place performance at the Pac-10 Championships on April 26, while leading the Wildcats to the fourth Pac-10 title in the program's history. Daniels finished the month of April with a stroke average of 71.00 in six rounds of play and dating back to last season, she has put together a string of 11 consecutive top-10 finishes.

Top-ranked Arizona will attempt to win its seventh consecutive tournament of the year when it plays in the NCAA West Regionals this Thursday - Saturday, April 11-13, in Tempe, Ariz. The tournament will be held at Arizona State's Karsten Golf Course.

The NCAA Championships are set for May 24-27, in Sun River, Ore.
