Arizona Softball Cruises Past Western Michigan

TUCSON - Every Arizona softball starter scored a run against Western Michigan that led to a 10-0 victory over the Broncos on Tuesday. The No. 2 Wildcats improve to 21-0 on the season while Western Michigan falls to 0-1.

Freshman Mackenzie Vandergeest hit her ninth home run of the year and brought in three runs. Senior Nicole Giordano gave the Wildcats their first triple of the year while senior Lauren Bauer stole two bases, giving her 23 this season.

Senior pitcher Becky Lemke threw a one-hitter and struck out 8 to improve her record to 8-0 on the year.

UA will face Western Michigan again on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Hillenbrand Stadium before hosting the Hillenbrand Invitational, Friday March 2 through Sunday March 4.
