TUCSON, Ariz. The Arizona men's tennis team, ranked No. 55, outlasted No. 31 Texas Tech, 4-3, Friday at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. The Cats are now 5-3 overall while the Red Raiders fall to 3-2.

In the top spot of doubles play, seniors Jean-Noel LaCoste and Michel Stopa defeated Ryan Shupe and Borut Martincevic, 8-1, while juniors Alex Aybar and Brian Jackson beat Patricio Espinosa and Clay Estes, 8-4, at the No. 3 spot. At the No. 2 position, senior Alex Brown and freshman Tom Lloyd fell to Jeremy Earl and Ryan Davis, 9-8(5).

In singles play, the Wildcats and Red Raiders split the match points. Aybar clinched the match for the Cats at the No. 1 spot by defeating Shupe, 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.

The Wildcats return to action when they play host to #34 Arizona State, Saturday at noon at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
