Arizona Women's Golf Team Moves into First Place at Arizona Invitational

Duke's Beth Bauer remains in top individual spot

TUCSON, Ariz. - After the second day of play at the Arizona Invitational the top-ranked Arizona women's golf team jumped two spots to lead the team race, posting a team score of 9-under-par 567. Arizona State advanced two places and is tied for second place with Stanford (2-under-par 574), while Duke fell two spots to fourth (1-over-par 577). New Mexico rounds out the top five, carding a two day team total of 6-over-par 582.

Junior Christina Monteiro leads the Wildcats in second place after shooting a 4-under-par 68, bringing her two day total to 5-under-par 139. Sophomore Cristina Baena shot a 3-under-par 69 today and has a two day total of 4-under-par 140 to be tied for third place. Junior Jenna Daniels jumped 30 places after posting a 3-under-par 69 today and is tied for 17th place (1-over-par 145). Senior Jill Gomric fell 14 spots to 24th place after shooting a 2-over-par 74 today and has a two day total of 2-over-par 146. Rounding out Arizona's lineup is freshman Julia Kraschinski, who advanced 31 places to 29th, shooting a 1-under-par 71 today and now has a two day total of 4-over-par 148.

Arizona freshman Anne Lee moved up 18 places to be tied for 42nd place as an individual golfer. She had a 1-over-par 73 today, bringing her two day total to 6-over-par 150.

After leading the individual race yesterday Duke's Beth Bauer continues to lead with a two day total of 6-under-par 138. Rounding out the top five golfers are Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh and Stanford's Kim Rowton who are tied for third place, at 4-under-par 140.

The final day of the Arizona Invitational is tomorrow with an 8 a.m. MST tee time.
