"I don't think anything is in concrete as of this point. With us and the other teams in our league having seven remaining games and team's in other conferences having post-season tournaments. Our goal right now is to get better each game and let things fall as they may.
"As far as this weekend, it is obviously a key weekend because you are talking about two of the top five teams in the league (USC and UCLA). A whole lot can change by Saturday night."
"The question has been asked about UCLA appearing to be up and down some. We down have to worry about the down cycle because we know that each team is excited about playing the other and I'm sure it will be a sold out arena. They will bring their "A" game I'm sure.
"The game here earlier this year is not indicative of their abilities. Their key guy, (guard) Earl Watson had injured his back up at Arizona State and a big part of his foul problems was his inability to move the way he normally moves. I think he is the heart and soul of the team. If Watson has a down game, my guess is the team has one as well."
On UCLA center Dan Gadzuric:
"Gadzuric has made tremendous improvement from last year. He's so big and strong and if he gets you in a post up situation, it's tough to get around him. It would be a big jolt to their team just like if (junior forward) Michael Wright couldn't go for us. That's not to say (UCLA forward) T.J. Cummings isn't capable of doing the job but he's 6-8 not 6-11.I would assume they would be more inclined to press because Cummings is much more active in the press."
On Full court press:
"We work on pressure everyday because we work against it everyday. I don't see us as a full court pressing team. I think we are much more effective when the court is shorter than if we extend out."
On limiting opponents under 60 points the last couple of weeks:
"I think there are some factors. One, (senior center) Loren Woods is much more active after getting to near mid-season form. Secondly, we are making fewer team mistakes in terms of doubling and help off screen. The coordination of what you have to do on team defense is much sound. The third reason is great productivity out of our three spot. (Junior forward) Richard Jefferson and (sophomore forward) Luke Walton have really stepped up.
"I think the biggest thing with our shooting has been our willingness to get more touches prior to the shot. We're passing the ball a lot better. As a result of that we are moving a whole lot better as well."
"When we are on the road, our guys would much rather play in front of a packed house as opposed to where you can hear the ball bounce."
