TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona freshman golfer Lorena Ochoa has been named Rolex College Golfer of the Month for November, her second such honor of the season, the College Golf Foundation announced Thursday. She won the award for the month of September, as well.

Ochoa led the Wildcats in their final two events of the fall season, claiming individual medalist honors at the Golf World Invitational with a three-round total of 211(-5) and finishing with one win, one loss and one tie at the CGF Match Play Championships.

In capturing her second title of the young season at the Golf World Invitational in Hilton Head, S.C., Ochoa lowered her season stroke average to 71.36 and is now a combined 12 strokes-under-par. The freshman sensation won the title in a playoff with Katherine Hull of Pepperdine with a birdie on the first extra hole, a 334-yard-par-four. Ochoa also defeated Hull at the CGF Match Play Championships, while leading the Wildcats to a seventh-place finish.

The freshman standout is ranked No. 1 in the latest edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings and is rated No. 1 in the final Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index rating for the fall season.

The Rolex College Golfer of the Month award is voted on by members of the College Golf Foundation's Golfer of the Month Committee. The award is based primarily on results from Rolex Collegiate Tour events, plus conference championships, NCAA Regionals and the NCAA Championships.
