TUCSON, Ariz. Arizona freshman Tom Lloyd outlasted California's Scott Kintz, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, in helping lead the 71st-ranked Wildcats to a 5-2 upset victory over the 35th-ranked Golden Bears Friday at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. With the win, UA snapped a four-match losing skid and improved to 9-9 overall and 2-4 in Pac-10, while the Bears fell to 11-7 overall and 1-5 in Pac-10.

Arizona recorded its first point capturing two of the three doubles contests. At the No. 2 doubles spot the duo of senior Alex Brown and junior Brian Jackson defeated 52nd-ranked Robert Kowalczyk and Ben Miles, 8-4, clinching the doubles point.

Arizona's second match point came in singles play from sophomore Caleb Marquardt who defeated David Tzou, 6-3, 6-0, at the No. 6 spot, while at the top spot junior Alex Aybar defeated John Paul Fruttero, 6-3, 6-4, pushing the Cats lead to, 3-0.

The Golden Bears earned their first point of the match at the No. 2 spot when senior Jean-Noel LaCoste fell to 75th-ranked Erik Dmytruk, 6-4, 7-6(3).

The Wildcats return to action when they play host to No. 1 Stanford Saturday at noon at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
