Men's Junior Varsity Golfers Tied for 14th Place

Coto de Caza, Calif. The University of Arizona men's golf team is tied for 14th place after the first two rounds of the Spalding/Anteater Invitational, which is being played at the Coto de Caza Country Club (Par-72, 6,736 yards). The Wildcats shot rounds of 306 and 309 and are tied for 14th with San Jose State and Washington State at 39-over-par.

The University of Washington leads the tournament with a two-round total of 16-over-par 592 and owns a two stroke lead over second place Stanford, who is at 594.

Individually, UCLA's Brandon DiTullio is in first place at 1-under-par 143 (67-75). He has a two shot lead over a pack of four golfers who are at 1-over-par 145.

As for Arizona's lineup, Brandon Smith is the top golfer and he is tied for 12th after shooting a two round total of 4-over-par 148. He shot a 2-over-par 74 in each of the day's rounds. Reid Hatley is tied for 18th at 6-over-par 150 (71-79); Patrick Norris is tied for 69th at 12-over-par 156 (78-78); Ryan Meyer is tied for 90th at 17-over-par 161 (83-78) and Aaron Friedman is tied for 102nd at 22-over-par 166 (84-82).

The 54-hole tournament concludes today.
