Wildcat Men's Golfers Remain 10th in Latest Poll; Gillespie & Barnes Ranked Among the Top-20

Tucson, Ariz. The University of Arizona men's golf team is ranked 10th in the latest edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings. Individually, senior Derek Gillespie is ranked No. 18 for the second consecutive week, while freshman Ricky Barnes has moved up to No. 19.

Barnes tied for third at last week's Pac-10 Championships, marking the highest finish by a UA golfer at the Pac-10s since 1994. Gillespie leads the Wildcats with six top-10 finishes this season and Barnes has the top stroke average on the team at 71.33.

The Wildcats return to action on May 13-14, when they travel to Ardmore, Okla., for the Perry Maxwell Invitational. The NCAA West Regionals are on May 18-20, at Fresno, Calif., and the NCAA Championships are May 31 - June 3 at Auburn, Ala.
